With Ann Walsh Bradley retiring after 30 years of liberal rulings, the 4-3 liberal mix of the court would be put back in conservative hands if Scott Walker’s former Attorney General Brad Schimel is allowed to beat Susan Crawford in this spring election. We got over what is at stake.

Next, we show how private medical establishments like the American Medical Association are stepping up to try and preserve and SERVE the vital medical information that Trump is having scrubbed from the CDC, DHS and other government websites before it is lost forever. Finally, Jessica Wildfire’s post at The Sentinel Intelligence tells how obsolescence was an idea purposefully put into place to ensure the profits kept rolling in – right to the top! Then we read, with permission, the writings of our UK friend George Monbiot, as he details how there, those who had been pointing out the ways in which their society needed to be improved to forestall calamity were pushed aside in a way that’s all too familiar here in the United States. As the Cure for the Common Media, TMI aims to be an effective media watchdog, holding it to account for distortions and omissions… which means the piece from Jessica Wildfire on how human beings associate the ones giving bad news with badness itself was deeply troubling. We go over it all, showing how human cognition often serves us poorly when the news goes against what we WISH were true, even finding the narrow balancing act that can make truth-telling effective DESPITE the tendency to “shoot the messenger”.

Then, we take a moment to celebrate that Dane County Judge Jacob Frost ruled that a tremendous amount of the union-busting evil that was Scott Walker’s Act 10 went against the Wisconsin State Constitution. Finally, we turn our attention to the upcoming Michigan Gubernatorial race as Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan was declare he will be running, but not as the lifelong Democratic candidate one would expect – he’s running as an independent! We’ll keep our eyes on this to see if he meand to be a Bernie Sanders type (yaaay!) or more of a Joe Manchin (boooo!). TMI 11/22/2014 – Educate Yourself about the Education Agenda, the Foreclosure of Fraudulent Mortgages, and more!

Many of us who are upset about the changes made in state education programs by governors like Scott Walker and Rick Snyder are brought up short when challenged to name specifically what wrongs have been committed by their supporters. Listen in today, and be armed with specifics. Find out precisely what the overall budget cuts have resulted in. Be able to say precisely why charter schools have become a menace to public schooling. Match your passionate opposition to the factual results of these policies, and be better armed for Thanksgiving dinner-table debates.

Then, with proclamations that the recession caused by the housing bubble bursting is over, one might think that we are out of the woods when it comes to the ill effects of home foreclosures caused by fraudulent mortgage practices. If only that were true. We’ll look at Massachusetts, where 40,000 frauds continue to steal homes away, with no help to be had.

TMI 9/20/2014 – The Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia, Peter Barca has Miles To Go with Carl Gibson, American Exceptionalism and Ebola, and more!

Lots of news from Wisconsin and abroad!

First: Wisconsin’s historic recall spawned backlash in a number of ways: perhaps the most insidious is the website http://putwisconsinfirst.com/, which took all of the names and addresses and political donation history of those who signed the recall petition and made all of that public and easily searchable, but MORE, matched them up with court data to list those who owe back taxes, are registered sex offenders, etc. But, as if that wasn’t bad enough, now there is a group calling themselves the “Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia” who intend to go to heavily-Democratic districts, find people who signed the recall petition, follow them home and call the authorities on them. They swear they won’t go after any Republican voters… so yeah, they’re the “good guys”. *sigh*

On the other hand, Representative Peter Barca (D – Kenosha) is often considered one of the “good guys” in Progressive circles; as Minority Leader in the State Assembly during Scott Walker’s administration, he’s been seen as someone who can be counted on to oppose the machinations of the GOP. Enter activist Miles Kristan, who knew of Barca’s reputation, and wondered why Barca was endorsing a Republican-turned-Dem who publicly supported Walker in 2010. Simply asking the question got Miles arrested. There’s even more to this story, and thanks to Carl Gibson’s reporting, we’ll discuss it.

Then: we commonly see America’s foreign policy as being well-intended, even if sometimes poorly executed. TMI 3/22/2014: Fighting the Silencing Governor with Mike Crute of The Devil’s Advocates Radio, and more!

Mike Crute, with his co-host Dom Salvia, run The Devil’s Advocates Radio program on The Mic 92.1 FM here in Madison. It is designed to offer a place for differing points of view, and thanks to that managed to get an exclusive interview with GOP State Senator Dale Schultz, wherein Senator Schultz vehemently decried his own party’s plan to suppress the vote.

But that’s not the only way Dom and Crute have been fighting Scott Walker’s campaign of silencing his opposition: by spontaneously joining in the Solidarity Sing Along once, Mike Crute (as well as Dom Salvia) were arrested. His defense attorney won his case on First Amendment grounds, clearing the way for many other arrested singers… but that story is not over yet. Listen in!
