The Washington Post hasn’t been shy about criticizing RFK Jr.’s Department of Health and Human Services for pushing disinformation on a number of topics, from autism to vaccines, but when RFK Jr’s HHS released a report full of anti-trans pseudoscience, they embraced it warmly. With help from Erin Reed’s cogent reporting, we examine the falsehoods that WaPo helped endorse, and work to combat the corrosive effect of a major American newspaper spreading them.

We then give a rapid overview of four more topics – the surprise win for Democrat in the race for Omaha’s mayor, how a Federal judge is questioning if noncitizens have Constitutional rights, how Michigan’s Department of Corrections is violating women prisoners’ rights by video recording them even in the shower, and finally what Pope Leo XIV’s past and choice of name tells us about his political positions. On today’s episode, we go over a recent report that Earth’s plants have hit the maximum amount of carbon that they want to take out of the atmosphere every year, which isn’t great considering we continue to increase the amount we are putting into it. Then, Secretary Rubio’s new rules for obtaining a visa into the United States that supposedly were to be aimed only at athletes, but are so full of holes that they could be applied to anyone who doesn’t happen to match their assigned gender at birth.

Next, the leadership we might be looking for out of the Democratic Party to oppose the machinations of the Trump regime are actually coming from Bernie Sanders and his National Tour to Fight Oligarchy. Finally, Jeff Bezos is says his new editorial policy at the Washington Post will censor pieces that go against what made him successful, because he IS America. OpenAI can’t just rely on ChatGPT subscriptions to pay for everything, so they have other professional offerings, like their “Whisper” AI-powered transcription app. The problem is, like other AI Large Language Modeled apps, Whisper has an alarming amount of “hallucinations” – phrases or sentences it just randomly adds without regard to what it was actually supposed to be transcribing. When applied to medical transcription, or interlanguage interpretation, these too-frequent errors become hazardous.

Then, we look at Paraquat (frequently marketed in the USA as Gramoxone) and the fact that despite being banned in many nations around the world – including the nation that MAKES the most of it – it is still used widely in the USA and Australia. Legal challenges are coming down the pike due to mounting evidence of Paraquat causing Parkinson’s, despite the assurances of the manufacturers that there’s no proof.

Finally, we look at the Washington Post and LA Times’ sudden reversal of planned endorsements of the Harris/Walz ticket. They wouldn’t go so far as to endorse Trump, but clearly they are terrified of what he might do to them if he wins.
