Dave Black, founder of WSUM here in Madison, Wisconsin, and one of the key people who helped get TMI on the airwaves, has died less than one year after his retirement. While we shall spend most of this episode on other topics, I refused to go further without honoring the passing of this dedicated media visionary. Thank you for humoring me.

In a scenario that is also playing out elsewhere, Colorado is finding out that the cost of allowing so much ignorance about vaccination among its citizens is its hospitals becoming completely overwhelmed by mostly those who refuse the vaccine. Not only does that harm the benighted patients in the ICU, it also keeps hospitals from being able to admit others who need their services, forcing non-COVID patients to be turned away even from emergency care.

Then, we look at the much-exaggerated “rough night” the Democratic Party had on 11/2/2021 – the losses were easily predictable, despite what the corporate media wants you to think, and they are being used as leverage to push Dems even FURTHER from action that would inspire people to come out in support of them. Finally, we talk about a pair of exciting new discoveries in the world of science: successful parthenogenesis in birds (specifically condors) being observed for the first time, and the ability to use a brain implant prosthesis to allow a blind person to ‘see”.

Amazon says it has the perfect solution to the housing crisis: why not let them house their workers in affordable housing near their workplaces, allowing them to also help control costs by supplying transportation, food, and other needs? Why? Oh, we’ll tell you, and the answer is to be found in the old classic “Sixteen Tons”.

Then, COVID-19’s path of death has shifted its focus: as more of your centrist-to-leftward population in America has gotten vaccinated versus the conservative side, more US conservatives are finding themselves hospitalized by the “hoax”, with no few of them dying of it. AI – artificial intelligence – is an amazing tool, yet still in its infancy as far as development goes. You’d think that might give people pause before using it on life-changing decisions like who gets accepted to a college or university, but this (and far more) is precisely what we’ve discovered it is being used for. We discuss.

Then: Just as soon as Millennials became old enough that it could no longer be denied they should be considered the mainstream voice of power, along comes the term “geriatric millennial” to describe the older portion of the generation, delegitimizing them as being “out of touch” with the rest of their cohort. Aldous, a Gen X-er, takes a stand for his younger folk against those who would hold power away from those who should now have it.

Finally, we discover that there’s been a quiet war in the scientific medical community when it comes to the term “airborne” over the past year, based on a mis-reading of research written over 50 years ago! We examine this falsehood that is meant to make you feel bad for wanting to have your needs met while making the boss rich.

Then, we look at the famous disparity of wealth between Millenials and past generations, and how, when sorted racially, that disparty gets much worse. Finally, we see that cities have found a solution to the housing crisis plaguing them: buy housing up and manage it for those in need!
